Electropolishing
Electropolishing is the reverse of electroplating. It has the process of systematically removing metal rather than depositing it. By selectively removing the microscopic high points from the piece, electropolishing is responsible for smoothing and brightening the metal surface. Electropolishing also passivates stainless steel and causes no hydrogen embrittlement. Available in a bright or matte, non-reflective finish.

Chemical Polishing and Passivation
Passivation treatment at Seaboard is in accordance with Federal Specification QQ-P-35. It is the process of dissolving iron particles and surface impurities from stainless steel by means of immersing in a nitric acid solution. The process produces a passive film on the surface and improves corrosion resistance. |
